Every Child is an Artist – Faith Pearson with Years 2 and 4

This half term Year 2 and Year 4 have been creating art works using things that people throw away.

They have been inspired by my own artwork TRANCE – FORMA and have transformed cardboard boxes into their own characters.

The challenge was to work in pairs to make the character stand up and to cover it with patterns inspired by art work from prehistoric times.

The children have learnt about contemporary installation art made from waste materials, so that they can begin to understand how their artwork will look when it is all displayed together.

I have also made some new pieces with ideas taken from watching the children at work which will be included in our final installation.  It has been a collaboration with excellent team work, the children have really supported each other to complete the art works.
