On Thursday 9 Feb Year 5 went to Warwick University for an Aspire day. The children had a chemistry demonstration from Dr Nick Baker and a tour of the campus, exploring how science & nature can be found in a fantatstic treasure trail.

We had an amazing trip at Warwick University. Starting in the brand new lecture theatre, we were treated to a range of chemistry experiments ably demonstrated by Nick. Look at the link to see some of them in action.
This week we have practised and improved on our mastery of art and design techniques, we have made volcano sculptures, using Paper Mache, mod rock and then painted them. Next week we plan to make them erupt!
This week we used food to get a big bang! We looked at the carbon dioxide around the world and in food. Our lesson objective was to record scientific results in a number of ways! We drew pictures, wrote conclusions, took videos
